IU to host information technology fair statewide
Theme reminds students “IT's All About You”
Indianapolis, Ind.—University Information Technology Services at Indiana University invites students, faculty, and staff to participate in the 2006 Making IT Happen! , an annual half-day event designed to increase awareness about the many information technology (IT) services and tools available to the university community. The event also provides a forum to showcase creative uses of IT, especially by students.
Student technology showcases are at the very heart of the event. The showcase option at Making IT Happen! provides students with the opportunity to exhibit an IT-related project that they have done as part of a class or a personal project.
The theme of this year's event is "At Indiana University, IT is all about you."
" Indiana University has exceptional IT resources available to students to support academic work, and Making IT Happen! is an ideal place to learn about them," said Garland C. Elmore, associate vice president and dean of information technology at IUPUI. "The event is a great place for students to share their hard work and creativity."
Making IT Happen! celebrates the richness of IU's technology environment on all campuses of Indiana University . Approximately 100,000 students statewide benefit from IU's information technology resources.
Making IT Happen! will kick off on the IU Bloomington campus on Tuesday, Feb. 14. The campus dates, times, and locations are as follows:
IUB: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. , Tuesday, Feb. 14, Indiana Memorial Union , Frangipani Room
IUPUI: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. , Thursday, Feb. 16, Informatics and Communications Technology Complex, Lobby
IUPUC: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. , Thursday, Feb. 28, Learning Center
IU Southeast: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. , Wednesday, March 1, Library Building , Multipurpose Room
IU East: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, Whitewater Hall Lobby
IU Northwest: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. , Wednesday, March 21, Savannah Center Lobby
