Indiana University podcast innovators announced

The Indiana University Faculty Podcasting Initiative will support more than 60 innovative faculty members as they explore the potential of podcasting in higher education and student learning. Supported by Apple and AT&T with equipment and software -- and with the guidance of the IU centers for teaching and learning -- faculty projects will commence in the fall semester of 2008.   Full Story >>

Kuali Foundation announces new investing partners

The Kuali Foundation has announced the addition of three new investing partners in the Kuali community. The University of Southern California has become a major new investing partner in the Kuali Student System, and has announced a commitment of $5M to the project. The University of Maryland College Park has become an investing partner in the Kuali Financial Systems. UMCP was already a partner in the Kuali Student System. Finally, the University of California, Davis is the newest investing partner in the Kuali Research Administration Systems. TeraGrid Knowledge Base achieves milestones in content and use during 2007

The University of Chicago and Indiana University announced today that use of the TeraGrid Knowledge Base, a 24/7 online user-driven support system for the TeraGrid, has passed two significant milestones. The TeraGrid Knowledge Base now includes more than 250 articles and during 2007 was accessed by U.S. researchers and information technologists more than 140,000 times. IU partners with Google and Microsoft to expand student and alumni e-mail options

Indiana University has partnered with Google and Microsoft to deliver enhanced email and collaboration services to all IU students and alumni on all IU campuses. The partnership allows IU students and alumni to access these popular commercial services while still maintaining their traditional IU email addresses. Students who use these services now will be able to continue receiving mail at their IU email addresses (e.g.: jdoe@iupui.edu or jdoe@iusb.edu) long into the future.   Full Story >>

Lance D. Speelmon joins Sakai Foundation Board

The Sakai Foundation recently announced the election of Indiana University's Lance D. Speelmon to its board of directors. In this role, Speelmon will participate in foundation governance and in determining priorities for Sakai's development of open-source course management tools and its related higher education software for teaching, learning, research, and collaborative applications.   Full Story >>
