OpenSFS funds Indiana University to develop Lustre wide area networks

The board of directors of OpenSFS, the Lustre community group in North America, has voted to fund Indiana University (IU) to develop features that will enhance the usability of the Lustre file system across wide area networks (WANs). IU moves fast and thinks big at annual supercomputing conference

Indiana University during SC11 this year will demonstrate the many ways its information technology experts have advanced the future of high performance computing. The annual International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis is the largest event of its kind, bringing together leading scientists and researchers from around the globe, as well as representatives from top universities, companies, and organizations in the supercomputing field. IU opens new center to solve extreme-scale, data-intensive challenges

Indiana University has established the Center for Research in Extreme Scale Technologies (CREST)—a research hub charged with developing breakthrough technologies that address challenges created by the ever-increasing volume of digital scientific research data. IU and Penguin Computing partner to provide secure cloud computing service

Indiana University and Penguin Computing today (Nov. 2) announced a partnership to offer U.S. researchers access to powerful shared computing resources in a secure environment. This type of service -- also known as on-demand or cloud computing -- lets individuals and organizations share the resources of large computing systems without individually purchasing and maintaining the costly equipment.   Full Story >>

IU hosts annual HPSS Users Forum
